Through addressing a problem we had within our own factory we developed a heat destratification system. Our system is a simple cost effective way of taking the stratified heat and piping it down towards the floor area. This is done using large fans which extract the hot air from the highest point in the roof space and then through a lightweight flexible ducting the air is then distributed down and vented out towards the working area.
The diagram below demonstrates the problem showing the stratified layers of air with temperatures measuring the lowest at floor level and increasing in layers with the highest temperatures measured at ceiling level.
This system recycles the hotter air normally lost through the roof fabric and gives the following benefits:
